Insulin Resistance & Metabolic Syndrome
Twenty years ago in 2005, I began presenting seminars about the negative consequences of insulin resistance. Including how damaging it is to women's hormonal and cardiovascular system, by way of being a primary driver and perpetuator of various endocrine and reproductive dysfunctions, which creates a vicious cycle of hormonal imbalance and inflammation. Much of the research has linked insulin resistance to numerous chronic diseases such as Metabolic Syndrome, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Hypo-Thyroid Dysfunctions and auto immune diseases. Leading to infertility, menstrual irregularities, and an increased risk of long-term metabolic complications.

What can be done?
Lifestyle factors that can be changed, such as your physical activity and dietary choices, have such a profound impact on lowering insulin. Research consistently shows strength training significantly lowers insulin resistance by building muscle, which improves glucose uptake, enhancing insulin sensitivity, reducing fat (especially visceral), and boosting metabolic health biomarkers. Making it crucial for managing prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, and improving overall metabolic function, even independent of weight loss.
